When John Wick (played by Keanu Reeves), a retired hitman, gets a visit from some local thugs, he is forced into a violent rampage of revenge, stylized to the core.

After his terminal wife dies, John discovers she left a planned present for him, an adorable beagle puppy named Daisy.  But when some young hoodlums break into his home to steal his car, Daisy is also killed and John Wick finds himself without the one and only last memory he has of his late beloved wife.

This ignites the awakening of his dark past as an assassin and John goes about hunting those responsible for his dog’s death, who happens to be the rebel son of his ex-employer, Viggo (played by Michael Nyqvist)

As Viggo’s negotiations with John become unsuccessful, Viggo puts a bounty on Wick, causing John to also be the target of other skilled assassins.

From the very impressive stylized lighting, art direction and cinematography, to the cleverly written subtext in the dialogue, this is one action-thriller that never lets up.  Think ‘Face/Off’ meets ‘Salt’, John Wick never falters.

When Cole, a young soldier is assigned to take care of the prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, she learns that the position is more complicated than she first imagined.

In an environment where empathy is not the priority, Cole finds it difficult to distance herself from one particular prisoner, who after being imprisoned for eight years, seeks every opportunity for companionship and conversation.

In trying to keep her friendship with the prisoner discreet, Cole angers her superior, who she previously rejected a relationship with and is punished for her benevolence.   But that doesn’t deter Cole from being loyal to her moral beliefs.
